How to Raise Baby Chicks? (Explainer Video)
Due to covid, people buy more chickens and start chicken farms, but most people don’t know what they need or how to take care of them. This explainer video responds to people getting chickens and will teach them the basics things they need to take care of chickens when they are young; as someone who has a chick farm, I can give some helpful tips and tricks on how to take care of them.

Process
Research/Inspiration
I researched different methods other people have done to take care of baby chicks, but I also used my knowledge of how to take care of chickens. I created a script based on my research and a mood board to inspire how the illustration could look.
Visual Style
After creating the script, I started on some rough sketches of what the illustration could look like and then made a detailed visual style sheet of all the items in the video. Around this stage, I determined to go with a cuter cartoon style for the baby chicks.
Rough storyboard
Then I made a rough storyboard with the frame number, time stamp, and notes on the motion in the frame. At this stage, I was still jumping around with a few ideas of how I wanted the video to look and how the motion should be.
Detail storyboard
Before I began the animation, I created a detailed storyboard with all graphics, textures, and colors in place. The notes are more in-depth to aid other people in the intended motion in each step. This step includes frame numbers and a rough estimate of how long the motion will be with a timecode.
